Rob had in his last video I received poster board with spray painted multi- colred and shapes. And then he used a script of commands to shooters to identify and shoot max three shots. Balanced and identified shooting. I like that for a good practice. I think it is great training. About a week or so ago I watched a short clip on this website and the target he had up was very finely printed multi- colored and shapes, just like in the video I received. What I want to know is. WHERE DO YOU BUY THESE FANCY TARGETS?

I am going for my ccw and I shoot left handed. My gun as of now will be a .38 snub. Is there a method that someone has to reload said gun from a left hand hold? Transfer to the right? Reach around with right thumb to unlatch?

Google's ongoing US$12.5 billion (Dh45.91bn) acquisition of the mobile phone and set-top box maker Motorola Mobility clearly positions it as a rival to handset makers such as Samsung. The move would also enable Google to make RuneScape Gold inroads into television. The takeover of a mobile phone maker is likely eventually to enable Google, the internet's biggest search engine, to provide devices such as smartphones powered by its Android software without recourse to third-party manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC.After news that Google was buying a phone-making unit, Samsung lost little time in doing a deal to run its own in-house Bada software on Intel chips. Although the South Korean giant is reputed to be the world's largest technology company by sales, it has become increasingly reliant on the Android smartphone software.
Buy rs Gold At the moment, Bada accounts for only a tiny percentage of the smartphone market, and Samsung will face a big challenge in making its new Bada-based Intel smartphone platform, called Tizen, a serious rival to Android. However, industry watchers think Google may start slowly in its approach to displacing third-party manufacturers and developing a new generation of smartphones powered by a new version of Android software.
"Google's objective for now is to have a wide and open ecosystem with different device makers," says Thomas Husson, a principal analyst at Forrester Research. "They could go a different route and provide some exclusive features and more unique experiences for Motorola but will do so cautiously, at least in 2012, not to upset the Android partners.Tim Shepherd, a senior analyst at the researh company Canalys, agrees.
"I suspect that the Motorola acquisition will go through in the coming months, but I do not expect to see any radical change in the way Google interacts with Android partners as a result," he says. "In fact, quite deliberately, I expect Google to be stressing that Motorola will not be gaining time-to-market advantages on new versions of the platform, in order to reassure and placate other key Android vendors such as Samsung and HTC."Without their commitment, Android would Runescape accounts lose momentum and growth potential."
Tony Cripps, an analyst at the research company Ovum, says Samsung is more than just defending its position with the changes to its own software."Samsung's beefing up of its own operating system, Bada, is not merely a response to Google buying Motorola Mobility but Samsung positioning itself as a key determiner of future consumer buying behaviour," he says.Google's strategy in acquiring Motorola Mobility goes well beyond the mobile-phone market. Having already made inroads into the smartphone market with Android, it may be willing to continue to work closely with smartphone makers in the short term, while Buy Runescape accounts trying to attract advertisers to a new platform such as TV.
By running its Android software on a range of devices, Google also hopes eventually to introduce interoperability among smartphones, tablet computers and TV sets. This would enable consumers to transfer content such as TV programmes or games among the devices."The company still wants to push the envelope a bit more with its Android software than its smartphone partners are willing or able to go, especially towards greater integration between smartphones, tablets and TVs," says Mr Cripps.
The US giant's move to buy Motorola Mobility may partly have been a result of its Rs Gold frustration at manufacturers not being willing to adopt a more widespread use of Android software."This is an area where Motorola's experience with set-top boxes and relationships with cable operators will prove valuable and could provide Google with an opportunity to more fully realise its ambitions to deliver integrated multi-screen services," Mr Cripps says.

This may be a little late, and many of you I am sure have seen this, but it is so powerful for me that I felt it was worth posting, even if it's not truly a "discussion" item. This comes from murdered border agent Brian Terry. He composed it as a class exercise during his training to become a border agent. He is certainly a hero and one of the ultimate sheepdogs ...

It is titled: “If Today Is to Be the Day…So Be It”

“If you seek to do battle with me this day, you will receive the best that I am capable of giving.
“It may not be enough, but it will be everything that I have to give and it will be impressive for I have constantly prepared myself for this day.
“I have trained, drilled and rehearsed my actions so that I might have the best chance of defeating you.
“I have kept myself in peak physical condition, schooled myself in the martial skills and have become proficient in the applications of combat tactics.
“You may defeat me, but I’m willing to die if necessary. I do not fear death for I have been close enough to it on enough occasions that it no longer concerns me.
“But, I do fear the loss of my honor and would rather die fighting than to have it said that I was without courage.
“So I will fight you, no matter how insurmountable it may seem, to the death if need be, in order that it may never be said of me that I was not a warrior.”

I have a few guns and I visit the target range on a routine basis. I know how to safely handle a firearem. I am approaching my senior years (60) and have only had a couple of incidents where my safety was potentially in jeopardy. Those incidents occurred several years ago while driving when I did realize that I made the other driver upset. One guy followed me home and another started throwing stuff out of his vehicle and my car after they thought I cut in front of them. These had the potential to escalate into serious issues but fortunately they did not. Currently, I walk my 2 small dogs outside late at night, close to the house, right before we go to bed. I live in a nice neighborhood but I am always uncomfortable and afraid of being approached by someone or a passing car will stop. Therefore, I plan to get my CCW and buy a pocket gun.

Here is my concern. I have lived my entire life and never needed to carry a gun. I want to safe but am I more likely to have a problem due to carrying the gun than I would if I didn't carry it? What about the occurrences of accidental discharge with carrying all the time? I am responsible and knowledgable of handgun safety and I would like to have a handgun on occassion for those unexpected occassions. I am also aware the the prisons are full and criminals are being released daily do to overcrowding. I would imaging every 10th car you pass on the highway has someone in it that has a criminal record and perhaps I have been lucky not to have had an encounter in the past that required carrying a handgun to protect myself.

Can you please share some valid reasons or statistics that will help me justify in my own mind the benefits of CCW. I am going to get my CCW, however, I would like to hear some more justification besides what I can presently identify. I would prefer not to be in a worse position than I am now after making that decision. Carrying a weapon is a life changing decision. Please help me understand the importance of this. Thank you for your time.

I recently listened to Rob's appearance on Armed American Radio. He and Mark discussed a recent article by Rob which unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to read. But the topic was interesting and I found Rob's take on it rather interesting as well. The disciussion was "Why do you carry" ... or more to the point ... what is a "valid" reason to carry. Rob went through several standard answers and described why they were not "good" reasons for carrying. My job requires it, I want to make a policital statement, it makes me feel safer, etc. And while I understand and agree with Rob's point that the only "true" reason to carry is to protect oneself or the innocents around you, I think the discussion overlooked an important point. And I think it's a point that is often overlooked in many related discussions. That is, Rob's point of view ... his understanding ... his final decision ... reflects years of training and education. But there are many gun owners that are just beginning that journey. Their reasons may not be as well thought out, not as matured, not as seasoned as someone who lives and breathes personal defense. So, while I agree 100% with Rob's ultimate resolution of the question, I wonder if some may be disuaded from starting their journey as a result of that philosophy. If they are told and believe that carrying a gun "because I need it for my job" is not a good enough reason ... well, would Masaad Ayoob be where he is today? He began carrying a gun because his family owned a jewelry store. His journey began because "he needed it for his job" ... What if he had been disuaded from starting that journey ... I guess my point is that everyone doesn't go directly from novice to expert instantaneously ... whether it be in training, in understanding, in philosophy. Those who have been on the journey for a long time sometimes lose sight of where they started. Everyone has to be allowed, indeed encouraged, to make the journey on their own. Everyone has to learn to "drive a car" (to use an analogy that Rob used on the show). They don't go from never having driven to driving in high-speed chases in a single day. If they are told that the only "true ... pure" reason to learn to drive is to win the Indy 500 ... then maybe they decide never to learn to drive.

So ... why do you carry? What is a "valid" reason to carry?

Personally, I don't believe anyone needs more than the second amendment. Making a statement that the second amendament is valid by carrying a gun is okay by me. I personally would encourage everyone to go much further down the road and to take the responsibility of firearm ownership seriously. I would encourage everyone to train and educate themselves. I believe that someone who does no more than strap a gun on their hip without training and education is a more dangerous gun owner ... but I still think simply demonstrating your belief in the second amendment is a valid reason for owning and carrying a gun. More to the point, I believe that the more law abiding citizens who become familiar with guns and comfortable with carrying them the better we will be as a society ... and the more Rob Pincus' and Masaad Ayoobs we will develop. I would encourage people to start their journey for whatever reason gets them on the road ... and then help them become the most educated and well-trained gun owners that they can be. So, is your reason for carrying "good enough"?

After much reading and thinking I finally came up with my defense stratagy. My constant foot pain and trick knee has made a cane manditory in my life. The one i choose is made from ash (like the baseball bats), solid to use for self defense and p/c for all to see. I now carry a C2 taser plus Kimber pepper blaster 2 on a daily basis. Incase things go to hell in a handbasket, all this is backed up by a pair of Gerber coverts, modified for easier opening. Training for stick and knife comes from M. Janich and Hock Hockiem's CQC materials. Overloaded you say? possibly, but it works for me. CCW? for reasons needing another post, suffice it to say that packing a gun is not an option for me. Thanks to Rob and Mike for this site, I remain a loyal subscriber.

I live in St. Louis, Missouri. I have heard that you keep both hands on the wheel and tell the officer you are a licenced conceal carry. I am still afraid they will not like the fact that I have a gun. I know this is my right but how does law enformcent typically react to this?

Hi folks, I was a the Crossroads of the West Gun Show over the weekend, Del Mar fairground has a standing policy only LEO's can carry there as a rule (might of been different for the show but was not posted that way)
Either way, it was quite evident numerous individuals were concealing something, and that got me to wondering, how the heck do you carry concealed, or is it really just covered and does not overtly show to be a firearm?
I am in the process for obtaining CCW's for sates other than my own, and from what I can see the only place I could truly conceal is the small of my back with a long heavy shirt or jacket, on my ankle, or a pistol to small to look like a pistol in a pocket.
On a side note, I am spending allot of time researching these and other gun issues, and I find this forum to be the most professional, non-biased out there, Several of you guys seem to be at the top of your game, just kind of wish there was more active participation, as good trustworthy heartfelt information is hard to find.
Cheers

For the general public, law abiding CCP, is it a benefit to equip your concealed carry weapon with a laser ... or to ask another way, is the benefit worth the expense? I'm certain adding a laser has benefits, I'm just wondering the value considering most personal defense instances are fairly close and are most likely to be in unsighted firing range. Or does it help because you have an unsighted firing aid? Love to hear the thought process on this as in my mind, as I read various articles and watch different videos, I feel like one day I need to run out and equip all my pistols with a laser ... then the next that it might not be worthwhile. Also, with the way many lasers are activated, it seems like it would highly unlikely in a bad situation that you would be focused on turning the laser on in the first place ... or is that a training issue? I carry an M&P 9c as well as an LCP. I do like the front activation of the CT for the LCP, that seems like it would be more likely to be used in an extreme circumstance .. but most lasers require a button push to turn on. Even with the CT for the LCP, that gun is intended for short range ... is a laser a factor in those situations?

hey guys i am new here I am looking into getting my conceal permit soon, and have been looking at guns to conceal. I have been looking at the ruger sr series pistols. the sr 9 and the sr40. Currently the firearm i have is a Hi-Point 40 cal. and yes i have heard people call them the big ugly and the hair dryer, really my opinion of them is the magazine could be smaller other wise they kinda look like a glock.
What is a good recommended sidearm for conceal and home defense?

This is a regular issue with gun magazines and advertising campaigns in the industry:
Summer is coming, get out your Thunderwear and NAA .22 !! Then, winter hits and it's back to the thumb-break leather belt holster with a S&W Model 29.... OR, is it?

You tell us... Do you generally switch guns & gear with the season? or do you find ways to accommodate consistency in your defensive carry regardless of the temperature?

I bought some Remington Golden Sabre 115gr but (naturally) after doing some reading may be rethinking to a heavier round (think they make a 147 gr). I'd be interested in what a good brand and weight would be for this gun. Thanks!

is being offered by TwistedIndustries. Google for them. This results in one of the smallest, lightest 22's around. The little Beretta series of handguns has no extractor, which means I don't trust them for serious use. The Walter TPH has DA misfiring problems, until you put a spacer under the mainspring, and it's an expensive little thing. Also, if your ccw gun is DAO, the tph is DA/SA, so not much good for training, realisitcally, for your carry gun.

Sometimes we here about terms such as "match the level of force being used against you" And people tell us "don't use a disparity of force"

Really?

Have these people thought these scenarios through?

Lets say a person is about to attack me and only shows his fists:

#1. I don't know if the person has a weapon such as a knife or gun, but I must assume that he DOES. We all know that if a person is within 20 feet, he is a serious threat (especially if he has a knife or other weapon) #2. Even if the person DOESN'T have a weapon, GUESS WHAT? He is only one well-landed punch away from taking MY WEAPON! Remember that anyone can take away YOUR knife or gun and use it against you. #3 A gun is a deterrent to crime. If you pull out a bottle of mace or mini-baton, a lot of people are simply going to laugh in your face! Real life cases tell us that pepper spray has very little effect on some people. Many times a gun will cause the person to change their mind immediately, with NO SHOTS FIRED.

I'm not saying to not carry pepper spray or other defensive weapons. There are scenarios in which they may be effective. I am simply pointing out the danger of thinking that a person must deploy everything in their "bag of tricks" BEFORE drawing a weapon such as a gun.

Consider the laws in your state, and what you are willing to risk. I've heard some people say "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6" Of course, if life was fair, we wouldn't have to face either!

Whats the real issue here? Is it really just about being humane and not wanting to shoot "an innocent attacker" that only meant to beat the crap out of me? And what is more humane anyway: If I beat someone with my baton, or if I draw a gun and the person changes his mind and stops threatening me? As stated earlier, many (not all) situations are stopped simply by displaying overwhelming firepower. I would suggest that many of these laws have GUN CONTROL written all over them. Just convince people that mace and mini-batons are all thats needed and gradually we will convince the public that citizens don't need guns at all.

I thank God that I live in a state in which I may defend myself by whatever means necessary, just because I feel that someone may cause me BODILY HARM. Obviously ONE PERSON may cause me bodily harm, even with just fists.

Nra's Armed Citizen and Cirillo's Gunfighting book say that if you leave the attacker an "out", the odds are50 to 1 against a civilian having to fire a shot, and 10 to 1 against his having to HIT anyone, 50 to 1 against his having to do so beyond 5 yds and 100 to 1 against his having to hit beyond 10 yds.

I've been able to reliablly hit a man's torso from the Weaver for over 35 years now, with a match grade 1911 and match ammo, but I long ago quit bothering to train beyond 10 yds. In fact, the only reason that I keep a belt gun at all is for teaching novices and hunting big game. The "hand on gun" (still in a front pants pocket) is such a tremendous tactical advantage that I don't bother with belt gun practice at all anymore. If I feel that I need "more gun" than the pocket 9mm, I take the M4. I am not kidding, either. A somewhat bigger, more powerful handgun (than the pocket 9) is unlikely to amount to a hoot if the pocket gun is inadequate. You need to move all the way "up" to a real fighting weapon. In fact, you probably also need rifle rated body armor, frag and smoke grenades, and a lot true warrior buddies. :-)

if the bullet is lightweight enough, and if it has a big, conical hollowbase cavity. Google for MagSafe ammo, RBCD ammo and THV-Arcane ammo. Such velocities are quite safe to attain in a gun with a properly supportive feed ramp, and thick, strong brass cases. The bullet's typically are made of brass or aluminum, turned out of solid stock on a lathe. The hollowbase cavity allows for the addition of more powder than is normally possible, and the type of powder and charge weights seem very extreme-unsafe to the reloader who is inexperienced with such things. The very lw bullet, however, gets moving so easily, has so little friction in the rifling, that normal pressures-charge weights are not applicable. In fact, they won't even cycle the slide with such lw bullets. I am talking about 45 grs or so in .36 bore.
