Rob - remember the color spectrum and ROY-G-BIV ( red, orange, yellow, Green, blue, indigo, violet). This is the wave length order from infrared to ultraviolet. The reason GREEN is the optimum laser is because it's in the middle of the spectrum our eyes see color. Red is the first color difficult to discern in dull light. Red was the first color of lasers as they were developed, old history. Green is the way to go for best performance.
