Especially my girl, who is a new shooter.

Comment on Does the Color of My Reticle Matter? by Rick https://www.personaldefensenetwork.com/post/does-the-color-of-my-reticle-matter/comment-page-1/#comment-4834529 Tue, 16 Apr 2024 00:27:12 +0000 https://www.personaldefensenetwork.com/?p=692144#comment-4834529 In reply to David Boots.

When painting, black is the presence of all colors. Mix up red, blue & yellow (or green), and you will get black. Or you can deepen a color until it becomes black (think black leather with a blue tint).

Light is the opposite – mixing red, blue & yellow or green will give you white. I took a studio lighting course where our instructor did this and the result was just as the picture in the article above.

The first instance probably refers to solid colour – paint, for example – whilst the second refers to light. Mixing all the paints gives you black, mixing all the lights gives you white.

With light all colors combine to make white. With pigments all colors make black. Use a prism with light and you make a rainbow. I hope that image solidifies it for you.

However you said just the opposite. Please explain.
Thanks

Comment on Dot, Circle, or Circle-Dot Reticle? by Kertis https://www.personaldefensenetwork.com/video/dot-circle-or-circle-dot-reticle-017876/comment-page-1/#comment-4834079 Thu, 04 Apr 2024 22:09:48 +0000 https://www.personaldefensenetwork.com/?post_type=product&p=696607#comment-4834079 I really like a 6 MOA dot for my self-defense carry pistols. For me, it is easy to use at closer distances, and still provides better precision than iron sights at longer distances. I’ve got a Holosun HE509T on my S&W M&P10. Although I do not carry it for self-defense, I like the 2 MOA dot for hunting. I’ve also got a Burris 2 MOA dot on my S&W 500 which I hunt with. I’ve used that for 7 hunting seasons, set for a 75 yd zero and it works perfectly for deer.
