They don’t work like they should. It’s fallty and you can hurt your self if it does fire. It’s a safety where if you pull the trigger nothing happen. It blocks the hammer locking pin for moving and keeps so when you move the tigger locking pin to the moves it out. And so when you pull the tigger nothing happens. That’s how it’s suppose to be done.

I got lucky in 1984 when I bought my first “plastic” gun, the SIG P226. The dexxxxer was a marvel to me. Since I’m left handed, I always used my right (support) hand to dexxxx. It has long since become a very easy thing to do. I would like to see more guns made with “dexxxxer” mechanisms, but realize SIG is not likely to allow use of their super-solution without a license fee, which hardly any other manufacturer would pay. Oh, well.

Thanks for the comments everybody.
@ James McGillis – There are some leftie techniques but they are pretty gun specific. As a general rule I would say that (as they have done forever) southpaws will simply have to work out a reasonably efficient method if they are forced to use a RH dexxxx gun.
@ Big Mickey – I agree. I have always been surprised that the rest of the industry lets SIG get away with being the only ones to put the dexxxx lever in the correct swpot!
