The 2017 PDN Training Tour Launch!

We kicked off the 2017 PDN Training Tour yesterday with an outstanding course in St. Augustine, FL. 15 Students were on the line for the 1 day Combat Focus Shooting Course which focused on developed intuitive defensive shooting skills. I was also joined by PDN Contributor Deryck Poole who assisted with the class. This is the 5th year that we’ve kicked off the tour at Ancient City Shooting Range, my Eastern HQ.

This was the first of almost 50 classes I will teach as part of the tour this year, at over 30 locations across the United States. We have 10 other instructors teaching on the tour this year, covering a wide variety of topics, who will bring the total number of tour classes to almost 100 at over 75 locations.

We have seven sponsors of the Personal Defense Network Training Tour this year, 6 of whom have been with us for at least one previous year. Crossbreed Holsters has been with us since the beginning of the PDN Tour and Viridian Weapons Technology, Springfield Armory, CMMG, Next Level Training/SIRT Pistol & Tactical Walls are all returning sponsors as well. Angelfire Ammo is our one new sponsor this year. They are generously offering bulk ammunition to all Tour Students at the lowest price that they have ever offered… and you can have it shipped directly to the course location!

To learn more about the 2017 PDN Training Tour, our course offerings, our instructors and our sponsors, visit the Training Tour Overview page and our Training Calendar. I hope to see you at one of my courses or joining one of my fellow tour instructors on a range or in a classroom near you. The 2017 Tour will run through the end of July.

I see you have several venues in the northeast, however since NJ, RI, & Mass have no reciprocity I wouldn't be able to get there with my edc handgun. Any thoughts about adding a Ct. location either this or next tour?

I am interested in the class in Exeter, CA. Are restrooms and/or outhouses readily available as I have frequent need of one, particularly when I am trying to stay hydrated? Will any shooting or instruction occur in a shaded area? Does the training facility have a web-site? At present my AR has only iron sites. Should I have a red dot or rifle scope? Will either red dot or rifle scope be available to me? Should I have a sling? I can be reached by telephone at 951-682-7791

I would like information regarding the training offered in Exeter, CA. Will some shooting be done from shade? Are rest rooms or outhouses readily available? Does the facility to be used have a web site address? Can you give me any estimate of physical activity required (running about, rapid movement from standing to ground, etc.)? At this time I have only iron sites on my AR. Should I have red dot and/ or rifle scope sites? If I have neither will they be available to me? Should I have a sling?

Hi Rob, I live in Charlotte, NC and after looking through the new training schedule realized their was no training scheduled anywhere near Charlotte. When are putting your schedule together what are the requirements you are looking for when selecting a location and do you see adding Charlotte in the future. Thanks for your response.
