My wife and I very much enjoy training together, but I agree that it is best not to train each other. I would add that many women prefer a female instructor for training, at least initial firearms training.
Good evening gentlemen, As long as you (Grant and Barret) are on the subject of preparing spouses, etc., for personal defense in the absence of the primary defender, I have a question: I have recently been working on introducing my siblings and in-laws to basic defensive handguns. My sister said she is "not interested at all". I have tried to appeal to her, as has my brother in law. I don't want to force her, or anyone to do something they are not ready to do, but I have not given up on her yet. I discussed her learning basic firearm use again recently when she asked how our first range session went. So, have you guys dealt with this before? Do you have any suggestions for me? Perhaps a different approach I can take which I may not have thought of, but that might yield better results. I feel it is important enough that I would like to find a way to convince my sister to learn basic firearm skills. Thank you guys! Brian
