PDN Training Talk: October 6, 2016

Training Talk with Grant Cunningham is the show to watch to get reliable and responsible self defense information!

In this episode, Grant was joined by Jarrod Needs of Trigger Time Ohio to talk about his recent PDN article, “Less Lethal Defense Tools“.

Grant and Jarrod discussed all aspects of less-lethal defensive tools, including why you might want to carry one even if you carry a defensive firearm. They looked at pros and cons of each type, along with a look at the silly and useless trinkets peddled as “self defense tools”.

They don’t show what their formulation is, so not sure how effective. Also not sure of any advantage to making your spray look like a firearm and shoot like one. It is bulkier and has less ammunition…a small can of spray has 25 bursts vs 2 shots from the blaster. This leads to a training issue: they have a trainer (that is out of stock) for $35.99, compared to $3.99 for an inert can that fires 25 bursts…$18 per training shot with Kimber! It also eliminates the ability to test the live spray periodically to make sure it still fires.
