I wanna talk to you about this Scottevest Alpha jacket. Now, if you're familiar with Scottevest, you know that they're designed to let you carry a lot of different things in a lot of convenient places keep your gear, keep your electronics, keep all your personal items organized. The Alpha jacket is specifically designed with someone who's interested in personal defense and preparation in mind but doesn't wanna walk around, looking like they just fell out of a tactical gear catalog. As you can see, this jacket would blend in in any kind of urban or suburban environment, and be warm enough even to go out into a rural environment. You're stuck on the side of the highway with a broken down car or something like that.

This jacket is insulated. It's also going to be water repellent, and it's definitely gonna be warm. One of the coolest things about any of the Scottevest or Scotty jackets, is of course the pockets and the way that the jacket allows you to organize all of your things. That this jacket has an amazing number of pockets. Of course, because we're interested in personal defense, the first thing we're gonna look at, is this very large opening here on the chest pocket, is a very large opening on this one.

This is where all of your primary defensive tools of course should be kept. If you weren't staging them inside of the actual hand warming pockets, which also were very large and easy to get into on the side, they'd probably be here. There are plenty of opportunities for hook and loop fasteners. And on this side, I've actually got my Glock 26L, staged inside of a Crossbreed Modular holster piece. So I'm gonna take that whole piece off, you'll hear it come off the hook and loop.

And as it comes out, you'll see that this is the situation inside. So I've got my holstered firearm secured inside of the jacket, in an exterior pocket that's very easy to reach into, and grab. Also there's some other pockets in here. Now generally, I don't like to keep a lot of things inside of a pocket or really anything inside of a pocket, with the firearm, because I don't want it getting in the way. But because of the way the Alpha jacket's engineered, there are some small pockets specifically made for certain things.

Right up here I happen to have just a little tube of chapstick, that lip balm there can be kept inside of that small pocket. And clearly it's out of the way. I could also keep some documents and maybe some business cards, something like that. I wouldn't want to put something large like a wallet on that side, of course, because I want to make sure that nothing gets in the way of that firearm, if I do need it to come out. On the side pockets, that's where I'm probably gonna keep things I'm gonna be using a lot while I'm moving around.

So my wallet in that case is over here. I also have keys, I might be using in and out of a workplace or in and out of my house. And they're conveniently connected by a lanyard, that's actually built into the jacket as well. When we go inside the jacket, we're gonna see even more organization. We actually have labeled pockets for a lot of different things.

So we could, obviously we have a MP3 player. This is obviously wired in as well. We have little buckets that hold the earbuds. So we can actually get into the earbud right here, and keep it staged right next to our ears. We won't have to worry about it draping down or falling down when you pull it out, stick it in there.

You go into a retail store to do your business, you're gonna go back out sit in the park for a while, listening to some music. Maybe you're listening to an audio book, boom, the earbud's right there where you need it. So we've got one pocket here. Of course, there's a little label here. The sunglasses, the sunglass pocket, includes a cloth that you can use to clean your sunglasses, if you're active, if you're moving around doing something out there, maybe your winter sports, you wanna be able to pull that out, clean off those sunglasses.

We've got a pocket right here for the pen clearly. I've got a pocket that I'm using for business cards in this area. Back here, I've got a thin area in this pocket, which I've opened up. And this obviously allows me to carry plenty of spare ammunition. And this long mag, a normal mag would fit into this pocket, and I'd actually be able to zip it up as well.

And again, more small pockets inside of that one. What you're gonna find in any of the Scottevest products, is that all the pockets are layered. So instead of just being stacked on top of one another, there really is some depth that you're allowed to store things in. Over here on this side, there's another large pocket. We can get into, we can put a lot of things in there.

This pocket goes the full length of the jacket. And there's also an ID pocket here, so that I can place an ID in there. If I want to be able to quickly, let somebody know, "Hey, I'm a good guy." Maybe I am an armed professional. I'm using this as a covert jacket to cover up some of my gear, or in this case I've just got my concealed carry permit. If I were involved in some kind of an incident, I don't have to reach into a pocket to find my wallet.

I don't have to do anything. I can very simply unzip my jacket, make sure the officers slowly can see my identification and at least start to get an idea that I'm a good guy. I'm prepared. I thought of ahead of time that I want to make sure they know I'm not a threat. If I am carrying actually on my body and not in the jacket, The Scottevest also has these side opening zippers, which we'll see in a lot of different tactical type jackets.

These of course are very subtle, but this allows you to open that up as well, if you're worried about getting to your firearms. So that could be part of your presentation process, zipping this up. If you were in a situation where you were in a heightened alert status, maybe you had some suspicious activity around you. You zip that open. Now it's gonna be much easier for you to get to that hip carried firearm because you have opened the jacket up.

The Scottevest also has some very large pockets that will allow you to hold a tablet, something like that inside of here, or maybe carry around that book that you're gonna read, when you get on the bus, you start moving around. There's also a document pocket in the back that you're gonna be carrying around, if you have maps or something like that, that you're using to navigate your way around an area that you're not familiar with. You wanna be able to have that on you. Maybe you've got your map that you're only gonna use in an emergency situation. You've marked some locations of public transportation in a city that you're visiting.

May be hospitals, may be police departments in an area that you're not familiar with. You can have that emergency document, placed into the back pocket and it stays completely out of your way. So, so far, this is my first season with the Alpha jacket from Scottevest. It's important to note that this jacket was actually co-designed by New York Times bestselling author, Brad Thor. And he's a guy that spends a lot of time traveling, and a lot of time traveling in areas that are somewhat risky.

And he developed this jacket with Scottevest, that he can carry all the gear he needs in a somewhat covert way, so that it's accessible and organized.
