Information Processing

Based on the empirical evidence, Rob Pincus believes if someone has to defend themselves with a firearm, information processing is going to be much harder than the actual self-defense shooting, which most likely will be shooting large targets at close distances. On the range, most people go to much higher levels of marksmanship and controlling the gun than will be necessary in a defensive incident. They do not work on information processing.

Rob gets it – during firearms training and practice, information processing is difficult and/or expensive, because it involves things like reactive targets, video screens, and shoot houses. But Rob has some suggestions on how to include information processing in range sessions.
