    couple of years ago i bought some quick clot i think that was the brand and it had a shelf life of 5 or 6 years if i remember it correctly. it was the granules. i have 3 old cars and i always wondered if the heat of the car in the summer would cause a faster derogation of the quick clot. now just recently i watched some training videos and realized a piece of rope is not a good idea for a tourniquet and now i am looking for 4 of them. it also covered chest wounds and breathing saying in a pinch any plastic will do to help them breath. of course now i believe i should have something sanitized and built for it and will be looking for 4 of them an extra one for the home. i think this is very important stuff and the first aid kits i bought have very little in them for major trauma. which is silly. they give you some bandages and antiseptic, real minor stuff. this other is truly life threatening. i realized that way back when and that is why i got the quick clot. it was before i noticed it in any of the kits being sold, whereas now a days it is in there. thanks for my continuing education. it is kind of disappointing that the quick clot has a shelf life and it is not that cheap when you have to buy 4. does the heat reduce the good until date on it??
