G-Code Sync: Assaulters Plate Carrier

Plate carriers have come a long way. Now, my era, we go all the way back to load-bearing equipment, and there's nothing wrong with a harness, some pouches, in certain circumstances. But people who are looking to carry around armor, people who are looking to be able to stop the bullets as well as send the bullets, are looking at plate carriers. And this is the kind of standard-issue military thing that a lot of people are used to. This one happens to have the soft body armor in here with no plates right now.

This is the Interceptor. This is, Marine Corps colors, maybe a little bit of Marine Corps scent in there. This is a very poorly designed product at the minimal level, in my opinion. If you look back, better than nothing if you wanna carry plates around and you wanna use the MOLLE to attach stuff, this is what you got. Doesn't breathe, just kind of hangs on the body.

The load is very much transferred to you. This doesn't do much to carry around anything you attach to it. It just kind of sticks to your body, and you gotta do other things underneath, under layers and things like that, if you want any kind of airflow or breathability. Let's pass on that and move to the G-Code SINC Series Assaulter's Plate Carrier. Obviously this thing, it just stands here.

Now, it doesn't have any plates in it yet, but if we put the plates in it, I promise you it would only be more sturdy, not less. You can see that this design is much lighter. It's very breathable. This is going to bear the weight of the load and equipment that you put, can put on it, and it's much more versatile. So when we start thinking about all of the different accessories from the SINC Series that we can add to this plate carrier, you can set this up however you want, super minimalist or load yourself up with a whole bunch of magazines, whole bunch of equipment, even this backpack, attachment that can go onto the back of it, obviously.

All the pouches you can think of. This is a recon pouch set up with three AR mags, two pistol mags, a pouch in the front. You've got accessory pouches, radio pouches. There's space in here for internal routing of any cables that you might have for any of your electronics, obviously your communication stuff. This is just an incredibly well-thought-out, well-designed laser-cut MOLLE all over the place.

Typical of G-Code, very high quality, very modular. That means that it's gonna suit your mission, your purpose. If your purpose is hunting and you just want a nice load-bearing vest and you aren't gonna put any plates in it whatsoever, but you're gonna put your binoculars, your laser range finder, whatever your cleaning equipment, your snacks, whatever you're gonna put in here, this might be something that you'd want to invest in. From an armed professional standpoint, thinking about what this offers in terms of your ability to move, to be dynamic, to be modular over something like this antiquated, piece of gear here really opens up the possibilities, right? Now, I'm not a big plate carrier guy.

You know that at Personal Defense Network, we talk about very standard, everyday, like this is, this is it. I'm covering up a gun. Maybe I've got a spare magazine. I've got an ankle kit, a flashlight here. Maybe I've got a knife.

But this is for the armed professional or the person who is preparing for a much more intense set of conditions where they're gonna have the warning, they're gonna have the practice time, they're gonna have the training time, and they're going to be able to go out into the field with maybe two days, maybe two hours, maybe three days worth of stuff all contained on this plate carrier. Now, obviously this is cut for, SAPI plates. There's a lot of different soft armor and hard armor options that are available in the private sector as well as to the armed professional, front and back. You can also get side plates that can attach to this also as an upgrade, along with all the other SINC Series accessories, and you're really not gonna find a higher quality, more rugged system that also is very lightweight. The lightweight is structured in a way to hold the weight of the equipment off of your body.

You can see that it stands itself up, and that means that you're gonna have some vertical stability when you start hanging pouches on this. It's not all just gonna be sitting on your shoulders. This really does have some structure to it. You add the plates, obviously you're adding weight. You add magazines, you add pouches, you add anything else here, you're adding a lot of weight, but not all of that weight is gonna be transferred directly to your shoulders.

It's not all gonna be sitting right here. It's not all gonna get lumped down on the small of your back. You can think of this almost like, the equivalent of an unframed or a framed backpack, right? When you compare it to something like the old plate carriers. Now you can see the craftsmanship that goes into this as well, and again, everything is laser cut right in North Carolina.

I've been to G-Code's facility to see the way they put this stuff together. Some of it's automated, some of it's done by hand. Of course, there's a lot of different colors and patterns that are available. This one's MultiCam. You can get it in gray.

You can get it in green. You can get it in some version of tan, whatever the, the trendy color tag name is. You can also get the MultiCam Black, and again, it can be configured right from the website. Set it up however you think you're gonna be best served, and if you change your mind later and you wanna add or subtract a pouch or add or subtract a magazine or even again add those side panels for more armor, for more protection, you can do that pretty easily. Incredibly well thought out, multiple years of development and evolution as just about everything that comes out of G-Code is, tested by the professionals that actually wear this stuff on a daily basis and need it. But it's available if you want it as part of your personal defense preparation. Remember, nothing wrong with as a fifth, sixth, seventh idea, once you have the locks, you have the cameras, you have the gun, you have the quick access safe, you've trained the plan with your family, maybe having some armor that you can throw on quickly is not a bad idea for your long-term home defense plan as you build up checking the boxes. This isn't at the top of the list, but it may be on your list eventually.

And then of course, as always, if you're actually gonna have this, you should be practicing and training with accessing all of the things in these pouches, including the magazines out on the range, running drills, making sure that this isn't something you just have in the room but you've never practiced with. You wanna put it on. The good news is it'll be comfortable to wear. It'll be easy to wear for a training session for the duration if you're actually deploying, if you're actually doing the job with something like this.
