Nextorch TA30C Flashlight
Rob PincusRob Pincus was testing the Nextorch TA30C Flashlight to determine if he would recommend it to PDN members … and then Hurricane Helene hit his eastern HQ in North Carolina, and it was game on for the TA30C. After several weeks of hard use searching buildings, homes, attics, and other areas that had lost power, the TA30C’s 1600 lumens proved up to every task. Due to its USB charger, there was no need to change batteries.
The Nextorch TA30C has four modes (low, medium, high, and strobe), is waterproof to 2m and impact resistant. Rob recommends it as part of a home defense or medical kit, for vehicle use, or any quick response requiring a rugged handheld light.

This is the next torch TA 30C flashlight. Now it's a strobing flashlight. It's a tactical flashlight. It's a defensive tool. It's all those things, and we know there's a lot of these on the market.
You may not be familiar with Next Torch. I was not familiar with Next Torch either. Um, last year they sent me a few items. They reached out and said, hey, we'd like you to check it out. Let us know what you think, and now I'm letting you know what I think as well, you know.
Here at Personal Offenses Network, um, certainly a lot of our videos are sponsors. We have some great people in the industry we've worked with for years about flashlights and firearms and ammunition that I've known and trusted. This is a new company, new to me and I think pretty much new to to everybody in the US market, um, and this is a fully featured flashlight and that's why I wanted to talk about it. It's, uh, less than $100 1600 lumens on the high setting. It's got 4 different settings, so.
It's a low, medium high and a strobe and as I said they really do push the idea that it's a strobing flashlight. Now I'm not big into you need to have a strobing flashlight, but if you want that strobing effect, that's the one button. It's the first button you push is gonna activate the tactical strobing feature on the TA 30C. 1 of the things that I really like about it is that when you turn the knob, the very first setting is the low. Setting and I don't think we need to always have the, the mega lumens uh everything we can do to illuminate everything everywhere blind everybody including ourselves in a dark environment when that light bounces back.
So I really like the fact that on the TA 30C, my first click is to a low setting. I can then go to a medium, then to a high, and then if I, if I just kind of panic and I want that strobe, I throw that all the way over, that's what I get. At any rate, where wherever you left it, wherever you leave it, you roll it back, you turn it off, your one button push on the back is also still gonna always go back to that stroke. Um, this is IPX 8 water resistance. It's impact resistant drop tested to 2 m, and one of the things I really wanted to kind of, I noticed it had some mud on there this morning.
If you remember last year, um, where my new eastern headquarters is, Western North Carolina, uh, the home of Avidity Arms, and where I've. Uh, set up my new property. We were hit pretty hard, uh, with a natural disaster. Hurricane Helene came in and, and really tore us up, and this flashlight I had been testing, playing around with it. Um, this was the one that was my go to light for several weeks, um, in a lot of wet conditions, a lot of rugged conditions, holding the charge for a long time was really important obviously because electricity was very limited at the time and we're using the lights a lot, um, inside of homes, um, search and rescue looking for.
People looking for animals fixing people's plumbing up on roofs on the insides and attic spaces, things like that. um, this light got a lot of hard use, um, and held up really well, um, but there is still some of that, uh, western North Carolina red red clay mud stuck in there. One of the other things I like about it is that, um, when you turn this on and then turn it off, there's a very low um level of illumination ring that lights up on the back and you can see this one's lighting up red. It's finally ready for another charge. Um, it does come with a battery that has a built in recharger, so all you need is a USB-C.
You can plug it right in there, um, and this will recharge. So we don't need to replace the batteries, and we, uh, don't need to worry about having a separate charger, which I really like about this as well. Obviously it comes with a with a clip. Um, this isn't really like an everyday carry kind of light for me personally. It's a little bit big for that, um, but as far as any kind of quick response, uh, kit, any kind of home defense kit, maybe putting this on the outside of a medical kit.
Uh, having this in a vehicle really easy right to keep this near the, the driver's position in the, in the vehicle to have this as a great light, um, it's gonna be ready to go as well because like I said, it does hold a charge and it, it has been pretty rugged. So if you're, you're looking for a a relatively small but but maybe not in the front pocket in the jeans everyday carry light that's fully featured, um, that I think has held up really well and it's fairly priced. Take a look at Next Torch TA 30C.
