G-Code IWB Mag Carrier
Rob PincusRob Pincus examines another excellent piece of defensive gear from G-Code Holsters. G-Code offers numerous magazine carriers. Today we’re looking at the IWB Mag Carrier. Rob used to carry spare magazines in a pocket because mag carriers were bulky, hard to use, and not comfortable. The G-Code IWB Mag Carrier has eliminated those problems.
The clip is the key to the carrier’s success, and this clip is adjustable for angle and height. Rob explains how the clip holds the carrier in place so that when you need to pull the magazine out, the carrier doesn't come out with it.
Rob recently reviewed G-Code’s EDC belts. Watch that video at the link.
G-Code is known for holsters, but they also make every other piece of gear you might want For holding your equipment, obviously your firearm. They got the belts; they got the pouches. They have the magazine carriers. And that's what we're going to be talking about today: Inside the Waistband Magazine Carriers. Now, these are available singly.
They're available as a two-pack, which is probably what many people are going to want Do, and you can get different clips at different places. Different heights, different adjustments; you can set these up at an angle. You can see I have this one set up so that it’s going to be inside my waistband, tucked Back, which is going to line up really nicely, not only with the contours of my body, But also with that magazine angle as I pull it, out, and I want to go into a firearm. And I'm wearing the G-Code belt. G-Code really does offer everything for EDC.
Not only do they have the Paradigm holsters, which are correct, Left, inside, or outside—pretty universal. You have the small to medium, Medium to Large: The Eclipse, The Synchron, The Phenom, The Belts. Uh, the mag carriers are what I want to talk about right now. Look at it a little more closely. Uh, first of all, inside-the-waistband mag carriers, but everybody wants points for style.
So you can get it in tan, you can get it in green. You can get it in black; you can get it in gray. You can get the fuzz that I love. I highly recommend anything you get from Choice that you're wearing inside the waistband. You get the fuzz on there.
You can get that in black. You can get it in green; you can get that in stealth gray, also. Um, they even have multi-cam covering, which is really popular with many people. For outside the waistband. Maybe you’re into that, You want the camo in your pants?
Go ahead. And get the MultiCam covering as well, then. Option or just leave it bare plastic. Uh, one of the things we really have to focus on, though, is the clip because it's kind Is the key to any system. And this system works really, really well.
You can see how deep that groove is. And it's also going to be angled upwards, so it's going to get in underneath whatever belt you're Wearing, whether you're wearing the EDC Quest belt, Maybe you're wearing a belt that's not even from G-Code, If that's your choice—leather belt, dress belt, whatever it is. This is gonna hook in there and give you a good purchase because in that worst case Scenario where you need your spare magazine, you want to make sure when you reach in and Grab it; it's in the same place you practiced from, and when it comes out Inside the waistband carrier does not come out, that’s going to stay there. So. Again, G-code's kind of the one spot for Everything EDC.
Today we're looking at the mag carrier. For years and years, just sticking around, one in a pocket was good enough for me, Uh, mainly because they're inside the waistband carriers or outside-the-waistband carriers were Bulky. They're hard to use, and not all that great. Comfortable. This one is low-profile; it's very Comfortable with the fuzz, and it's gonna stay Where you need it to be.
So if you're inclined, or maybe walked away from magazine carriers, and you’re thinking, Uh, maybe it's better practice to have the magazine carrier. G-code is probably where it's at.
