Great vid, as usual!! Does anyone of you guys know what plate carrier rob is wearing? Thanks a lot...

All of the the high-speed tactical training in great facilities like this one is for nothing if one of your partners or family members bleeds out in the street. Today, Magpul Dynamics Medical Instructor Kerry Davis is going to teach us how something as simple as this, could save a life. Contact front! Right-left down! Man down, man down! Fire to the threat! Threat down. Right leg, right leg, my thigh. It's bleeding out. Get that tourniquet on. Identify that wound, expose it. Higher up, get it high up, high up on the leg, there you go. How are you going to know that bleeding stopped? Unwire the chord, tear it open. Exactly, tear it open, look for it, watch that bleeding stopped, it's going to get away. Is it? Good. All right. The bleeding is stopped, I exposed it. Threat's been neutralized. All right, continue to search the site for threats. You're good to go. Back in the fight. Contact front! Threat is down! Fight through the threat, still got a threat! Get that tourniquet on. Moving! Good. Threat's neutralized. What you got? Right arm, right arm. Get pressure on it. Just started to get my tourniquet on. Good! Remember if you're buddy still fight in the fight and he can still cover the security for you. You can get that tourniquet. I'm trying to get. Good! What you're looking for? You going to keep moving it a lot to sit ripped anymore. That's it. One more blood. Get your way out from that wound that's going to be few minutes. He'll let you know because you can build it and start screaming. There you go. Back in the fight. Go run guys, index. Awesome stuff Kerry. Thank you. We really appreciate you coming into the show, What you guys are doing under the Magpul Banner with medical information, I think a lot of people obviously know that Magpul make great gear. Everybody's aware that you got some great techniques and tactic in teaching on the firearm side, but talk to me a little bit about the Medical Program and what we're seeing here today, with our officer down. Well the officer down here, we have here, We're trying to utilized the Magpul medicine principles on served in law force agencies. Covers and used trying to get appropriately to increased awful shootout ability because we're seeing more combat like wounds on the Sylvania street. So we'd doing thing to pretty increased awful survival ability. And we're going to try to get as much information out here, into this gas as possible. And one of the biggest piece of information that it'll come out in medical world over the last decade is the emphasis on tourniquets and efficient tourniquet use, application, everybody having a tourniquet. What are the high point of this drill that we just saw here? hat your trying to convey to Kyle and I and everybody else in the group? All right high point and drills are basically to engaged threat. Fight to the threat, neutralized the threat, and then you have to look at your, look after your partner. Troop welfare comes second, you should come always for the first. Great. For people at home and I know for some that Slyvanian street be at standing by, even the application of a tourniquet or understanding the different types of tourniquets out there, and maybe something brand new. A little bit later on the show, you're going to be going over some of that stuff in showing the application in the civilian defense environment? Absolutely. Cover some of different tourniquets and there application proper, application proper use and that's pretty them out. Awesome. Kerry I appreciate you being here on SWAT Magazine TV. Stay tune for more important medical information, including the types and use of tourniquets in the civilian self defense environment. Being an Armed Citizen means having a with you all the time. Carrying a firearm everyday requires a holster that is supposed to be sealable and comfortable. Prosperity holsters are handmade in the USA. And with a Lifetime Warranty and a two week Try-it-free Guarantee. Order you holster today at crossbreedholsters.com Okay guys here I'm talking about some tourniquet real quick and how some of the tourniquets can apply in different situations. The proper use and application of the tourniquet. How many of you are familiar with tourniquet use? Have you ever use a tourniquet real lies? You have. Okay. And you know how much, how stressful that match would be? That much. Absolutely. So just like what we're you doing when your pricing with your firearm, you need to price this tourniquets as well. And the good thing is you can price this little more problem and no risk of injury for yourself, but just like anything, long term negotiation is the key. So the tourniquet were going to talked about is the soft T, the Swat T , its special stretch wrap at the top tourniquet, and we also have the needle tourniquet here. And you can even look at, believe it or not, a stick and a couple of cur rags, that's can be an improvised tourniquet. You don't have to have anything that's score ball because you maybe in a situation where you may not have anything all, we recommend people tearing tourniquets. Specially the latest shootings that been occurring and probably setting. Well the combat tourniquet, this is the most widely fielded tourniquets in the military right now. And the combat T tears has been use in the third degree of success. They had it over 865 applications of tourniquets back in 2008 and they were absolutely no limps lost to the tourniquet application. So it's pretty has a successes right there and where about 87 %of survival ability rate. That's speaks pretty Halley. We seen a third on tift and tourniquet use. Want to make sure that tourniquet put on first of all combat. Injuries, rapid bleeding out from wounds. You can loss over a liter of blood less than a minute if your going to be shot. Where on through this, okay? Go ahead and put a point in your arm there, and let say you use your nondominant arm, your reaction arm. Get that thing sinc down. Okay. This gets slimy. All right, this is gear right here you can do, you can bring that up, that's fine. But once you done you get that belt pretty close right there, then what you got to start doing this turning out wheels. Fine now. You don't have to trait down some tight your shoulder all your blood flow off that's going to be pretty painful. All right. So what we're going to do is, where going to do a scenario where you have an active shooter situation and you're going to engage the threats and you get hit and your nondominant hand or what we call the reaction hand and remain to continue to fire, neutralized the threat. And then what I want you to do is safe and hold to your weapon. Yet behind the cover and apply tourniquets. Okay we're going to do a dry run of this first. So let's go ahead and get your weapons. We're concern about the time that goes and the time that tourniquets applied. That tissue is without oxygen. Tissue time equals tissue. Okay? right down. What's up man? Right leg, right leg. My thigh. I've been in the medical field for 18 years. And I have a started out as a ER medic and Us Air Force and take a special duty in summit poor preg and poor air force based work in the, with the Air Forces only tactical, air medical back relation service. So I did only high school and since we were a lot of army units I had to won the army air force in school. Did a specialized medical training, and then went to, start teaching medical readiness in training school. Last I work I work at Sylvanian paramedic to pay the bills, helped pay the bills. And then I got acting duty Air Force in 2001. And started nursing school and then I took clinical care and remorse in for the last, rough, almost a years now. Okay going to take that turn and get on. Lean up man. Magpul Dynamics it's self respondent in 2007 as a training of Magpul industries, which was founded 1999 by Fitzpatrick, a former E-commering. Dynamics started 2007 and I stood the Magpul Dynamics medical training division of last year 2010. Magpul Dynamics Medical is a courses, based in my 18 years medical experience trying to bring what I've learned in military and in world to, and apply to civilian and law force communities, government agencies and try to increased social survival ability incase anything would met. How many of you are familiar with tourniquet use? Have you ever use a tourniquet real lie? You have. Okay. So we have dynamic shooter A, which is basically a two day non laugh fire class. Year drop 20 students and it's base on the late person who has little to no medical experience, what so ever. We house to have a three day class as called dynamics shooter A two, is basically the first two days are exactly the same and with addition of a third day of live fire stress ena culation. where that week appropriate our principles of reality efficiency, consistency and I even throw on simplicity because I try to keep it as simple as possible. And teach these guys, "Hey you don't need a moveable trauma barrier tip." Just to save's man a lot, that you can use whatever's at hand. All right? This gear right here, what you can do, you can pull that out and that's fine. I want to help you, honestly I have a passion for sharing knowledge that can increased sense of survival ability by talk 10,000 people. And one person use that, use the material that I have given them, then might everything I've done to be worth it. Where you going to check pulse at? All right good. That hurt? Yes. Good. Get it on good then. All right good job guys. SWAT Magazine delivers great information straight to your doors step every month. I thought I will be interesting to ask our experts what do they prefer the AIR15 or AK-47. I prefer the AR in order AK for the ability Well you're system that could take care of them then we'll go either. I prefer AR just because it's system that more people are probably familiar with. And I think it something that probably punch and power. There's probably more punch and more power to an AK then there's necessary for home defense. Probably going to get more than you want to certain types around then that type will run. AR all day long. The AR is a good platform that does do things up closed, loaded properly with right A mention and it also very, very accurate in distance. So it can be used in both close corner battle or in distance. Honestly I've probably go with an AR because I'm more familiar with that. It's kind of funny to see some of the AR platforms out there. You can have more items on that particular firearm than the gun that's probably worse. But military background, I definitely go AR all day. AR, just the modularity that you can get out of it, I think, there's plenty of, I think most of the scenario that we're talking about here. The calibers are really not going to be an issue. I think being able to customize it for the owners specific needs are going to be far more important. AR it's the best weapon system on the planet that I've seen so far. A lot of guys talked about how a wealthy AK works but if you want to hit what your shooting at you probably want to go with an AR. AR, American made. It's just, I know how rough the AK is, so there's BO doubt about, its a great weapon in itself. But I'm former military so, I'm AR all the way. Being an Armed Citizen means having a gun with you all the time. Carrying a firearm everyday requires a holster that is able to sealable and comfortable. All you have to do is choose how to get started, monthly or annually, and I'll see you on the inside. What we're going to have you all do is you're get to engage the threat down here. As id your in a mall, you're just doing some shopping. You maybe a husband-wife team you maybe both have consealatory permits. Apply the tourniquet to yourself. Other person can do to engage the threat, So I give you the threat neutralized. And then you maintain security. Any questions? No. All right, shoes ready? Fire! all right try to neutralized. Okay trying to get that tourniquet on. Get it, we might man. You bleeding up. There you go. That belt row on, good. Get them up high, higher the better. Turn off the faucet. Turn off the faucet. That's all you got to do. Awesome. All right, high no from bleeding stopped. No pulse. Where you going to check the pulse at? All right good. That hurt? Yes. Good. Get it on good then. All right good job guys. Well held pulse rate index. Good stuff here, mixing in the live fire with the actual practice on application of tourniquet really added steps it up, makes it little harder, makes it little bit more serious with it. Absolutely. We try to emphasize stress inoculation as much as possible that way whatever, if anything were did happen, we will took back on that training. And what comes next in this scenario we had a threat, someone took a hit, they applied the tourniquet, somebody maintaining security, what other things people to be worried about in this scenario? In this scenario other than the personating security to search for other threats. 911 comes, basically no one how to speak to 911 dispatchers get ambulances on scene, get firearm same place on scene obviously and making yourself as not threaten as possible because the officer are coming into the building. There going to be focusing on the threat, if you look like a threat, you maybe come the next casualty. Absolutely. Now of course getting the live fire in there and getting that amp up kind of lethal situation and bulb is important, but also I imagine that because of the administrated constraints, like needing a holster before we go down things like that for safety. Force on force stop we're really well for this? Absolutely. I mean we always try to stress wheels as much as possible but again with the scenario, safety is for fact. Absolutely. Listen I really appreciate you being here in place Thank you. Everything you and the entire Magpul Dynamics, medical team were doing, help everybody be safer on the street, be ready to help themselves. Thank you for being on the show. Thank you very much.
