Training in mental awareness is extremely important for protecting yourself and/or staying out of harm’s way. In this case, Levi demonstrated an instance where he successfully read the situation and determined that he had to take action. When he was approached in a parking lot by two dangerous-looking men who attempted to draw a weapon on him, Levi had been watching them, and was already aware of their plans before they could act on them. He was able to pull out his handgun and discharge two rounds into the chest of the armed man before he had the time to get his weapon out of his waistline. Levi’s awareness of his surroundings potentially saved his and others’ lives.
