Vertx is well known for their defensive gear, especially their packs designed for armed professionals and discreet but secure carry of firearms. PDN Contributor Deryck Poole of Echo 5 Training shows the features of two Vertx packs.

The new and improved Gamut 2.0 from Vertx has some obvious features and some hidden ones, which Deryck demonstrates. Starting at the front, a quick-access pull tab reveals several rows of MOLLE webbing that can be used to attach pouches or other gear. Then the user has options to attach bulky items between the MOLLE and the front flap, fold the front flap away and leave the MOLLE exposed, secure the front flap so no one can use the pull tab, and more.

The spacious main compartment can be quickly and completely opened via a pull strap for easy access to the contents. Mesh zipped compartments are on one side. A separate area of the main compartment can hold a 15-inch laptop or a single plate of body armor, depending on what you’re doing and where you’re going.

The main compartment can be secured so it doesn’t open all the way, if you prefer that for security.

The sides of the Gamut include small zipped compartments with mesh pouches for storing smaller items. These unzip toward your body to ensure no one can try to unzip them without you knowing it.

In addition to these compartments, the Gamut 2.0 has a back access panel designed for firearm storage or carry. The interior is made of Vertx’s Tactigami for superior retention of holstered handguns.

Vertx also makes the Go Pack, a featherweight drawstring gym bag with tactical upgrades. Deryck shows its features, so be sure to watch the entire video.

PDN is proud to welcome Vertx as a sponsor of the 2023 PDN Training Tour. Check out Vertx bags on the range and in the classroom at many Training Tour stops.
