The POF-USA Revolution Rifle is a .308 rifle that is the size of a 5.56. It is built with numerous interchangeable parts with POF-USA 5.56 guns, so it is ergonomically and functionally very similar to the AR-15 5.56, but it’s a piston-driven .308. It also weighs only 7.3 pounds.
Your “One Gun”
Patriot Ordnance Factory wants their POF-USA Revolution Rifle to be your “one gun.” In previous videos, Rob Pincus has not recommended .308 guns as home-defense weapons or patrol rifles. But considering new developments like the Winchester Defender ammunition and other rounds meant specifically for close-range use, and with a .308 package that’s just like a 5.56 gun, there may be room for a .308 in either of these roles.
It can work particularly well as a patrol rifle, for SWAT teams or armed security.
Rob reviews the specs of the Revolution Rifle. It has a 16.5-inch barrel and 14.5-inch M-Rail. Its 5.56 parts include charging handle, bolt carrier, cam pin, buffer, heat sink barrel nut, handguard, and five-position adjustable gas piston operating system. The barrel extension, bolt assembly, upper, and lower receiver are the exact same size as those on an AR-15.
The Revolution features POF-USA’s Edge Handguard with four built-in QD mounts. It has a fully ambidextrous billet receiver set, high phosphate nickel coated bolt carrier group, single-stage match-grade trigger, and more.
If you’re looking for a .308 and especially if you want something with a little more knockdown power, Rob sees many potential roles for the POF-USA Revolution, including rifle training, hunting, home defense, or a patrol rifle in rural environments.
With two magazines — one loaded for close range and the other loaded for the standard typical engagement distance outside in rural areas, the Revolution might very well be your one rifle.
