Specs

The Saint AR-15 Pistol has a 7.5-inch free-floated barrel, aggressive muzzle brake to help with recoil management, and M-LOK handguard. Moving farther back, the Saint AR-15 Pistol comes with an ergonomic Bravo Company Mfg flat-angled grip and an SB Tactical brace, which is designed to be worn around the forearm, though it can also be pressed against the arm, the body, or the chest.

The topic of stabilizing braces for AR pistols is a contentious one (at least for the BATFE) that Rob Pincus has written and spoken about at length.

The Saint has a great trigger and a Bravo Company Mfg oversized trigger guard.

Optic Options

The Springfield Armory Saint AR-15 Pistol doesn’t come with any sights or optics. Rob has added the pop-up sights that come on the full-size rifle versions of the Saint. He has also mounted a light and laser combo from Viridian because when shooting an AR pistol, if you are shooting outside of your eye line, or extended in front of you, a laser aiming indicator is a great way to tell you exactly where the rounds are going to go.

Firing the Saint AR-15 Pistol

AR pistols aren’t designed to be fired like a rifle. They’re meant to be shot like a pistol, out extended from your body. This is why the Saint has a brace, not a buttstock.

The Springfield Armory Saint AR-15 Pistol is available for an MSRP under $1000. The Saint line of rifles has taken over the market for value-priced, reliable, dependable ARs. This is the Springfield Armory SAINT 5.56 AR-style pistol. Now this delivers all the quality at the fair price that you expect from Springfield Armory, of the SAINT, of they're full-size rifles in a pistol package. This is a 7.5 inch, obviously free floated barrel. It's got a really aggressive muzzle break on there to help with recoil management. It's got a hand stop and it is an M lock hand guard up here.

Now the gun doesn't come with any sights or optic options. I'm going to talk about what I've put on here in a minute but as we move back, you're going to see that it does come with a Bravo company grip, a nice flat angle here. It's good, it's nice and ergonomic. And it also has an SB tactical brace. Now this brace is designed to be worn around the forearm.

It can also be used to be pressed against the inside of the arm, pressed against the body, or even pressed up here against the chest in a worst case scenario, if you were to bring the gun up to your face to shoot. When I do that, you see that I'm lined up behind the Springfield Armory pop-up sights that come on the full size rifle versions of the SAINT. I went ahead and put them on the pistol. I've also mounted a light and laser combo from Veridian because when you're shooting an AR pistol if you are shooting it outside of your eyeline, or even if you're shooting it extended in front of you or extended in front of you with one or two hands, in your eyeline a laser aiming indicator can be a great way to make sure that you know exactly where those rounds are going to go. Iron sights are a red dot or a great way to align the gun as well.

And of course you can use kinesthetic alignment if you do have the gun up against your body braced and you bring the gun up to your face. Of course, AR pistols, aren't designed to be shot like a rifle, they're designed to be used like a pistol out extended from your body and that's why this is a brace and not a butt stock. This is available for an MSRP of under $1,000. It's got a great trigger. It's got a Bravo company trigger guard, the oversized one, it's got a typical 90 degrees switch for the safe and off safe positions.

And I think you're going to be impressed with it, just like you're impressed with any other SAINT-line rifle. The SAINT rifles from Springfield have really taken over the market when it comes to a value price, reliable, dependable AR, and I expect that the AR pistol is going to be very, very popular with people looking for a compact but powerful home defense or fun to use at the range option.
